Questions

Who holds my money while it waits?

Nobody. It sits in an open Solana program. Only your Undo, the receiver's claim, or the timer you picked can move it, and only to the addresses fixed when you sent it.

Nothing happens. The link carries no money. A stranger who opens it shows you a different 6-digit number, so you simply don't press send.
